Notes |
Key |
In "Pairings & results", - "age" denotes the player's age on his or her birthday that year (even if the birthday fell after the event)
- "x-ch" denotes former Irish champions
- "ch#" denotes the number of championships the player played in, including this one
- "ol" denotes members of the team for the Olympiad later in the year (Istanbul 2000)
|
Débuts and final appearances |
Sam Collins, Gavin Wall, and Paul Walsh made their Irish championship débuts. Pat McMahon and David Path never played again. |
Ratings |
- FIDE ratings are from the January 2000 list
- ICU ratings are from the January 2000 list
|
Incomplete game score(s) |
- Walsh - Heidenfeld (round 9), the game that decided the championship, is given to 47W, but Gerry Graham's report says the game ended on move 73
- P. McMahon - Fox (round 5) finished a draw, though the last position is easily winning for White; this game may also be incomplete

Club affiliations |
Gavin Wall's affiliation was mentioned in Gerry Graham's reports. The other club affiliations given are from the Irish Chess Journal, volume 12 issue 2, June/July 2000, pp. 12-16 ("Dual numbers–registration problems / solutions"). The club affiliations given in v1.4 were mostly from the then-current (i.e., 2013) ICU list, but this is unreliable since the ICU list provides only the most recent club. |
