In the last-round game Bermingham-D. Fitzsimons, which decided first place, the players reached a Q + 2P v. Q ending after Black's move 62. The Nalimov endgame tablebases show that that position (FEN: 8/6p1/K6p/5Q2/8/7q/7k/8 w - - 0 1) is a draw with correct play. White erred with 66. Qf4+?; the only moves that draw are 66. Qd1+ and 66. Qa1+. |
