Notes |
Key |
In "Pairings & results", - "age" denotes the player's age on his or her birthday that year (even if the birthday fell after the event)
- "x-ch" denotes former Irish champions
- "ol" denotes members of the previous Olympiad team (Bled 2002)
In Round bulletins, - () around a result denotes colours unknown (and not inferrable)
|
Olympiad place |
The winner was guaranteed an automatic Olympiad place for the 2004 Olympiad. In the event Stephen Brady chose not to accept this place. |
Ratings |
FIDE ratings are from the July 2003 list. ICU ratings are from the Pairings & results table at dublinchess.com. |
Incomplete scores? |
Brady-Crichton (round 1), McPhillips-Keogh (round 3) and Brady-Short (round 7) stop with “1-0” in positions where there is no reason for Black to resign. |
Discrepancies |
- O'Donovan-Bennett (round 3) is given as occurring in round 2 by TWIC 453 and the ICU games archive. This does not match the “Crosstable” given on dublinchess.com
- The pairings in the round 3 report at dublinchess.com do not match the “Crosstable” page on the same site: Simon Jeffares is given as playing Gordon Freeman rather than John Loughran
- The ICU games archive gives the game Cormac Brady-Sam Collins as occurring in this event, but it must have been the previous year's championship (cf. Cormac Brady 1956-2003, Hugh Cummins, CHESS IRELAND, March 1, 2003)
